Let’s talk about food waste
On the 28th of February stakeholders within the food value chain are invited to discuss openly about possibilities, projects and solutions to the challenges around food waste.
Food waste is a problem throughout the whole food chain and it affects the industry economically. It is estimated that the food waste in the EU costs approximately 143 billion euros, which is equal to 88 million tonnes of waste. So this is not just an economical issue but also an ethical as well as an environmental challenge, which needs a broad discussion to solve it.
This is a joint activity by Materials Business Center, Livsmedelsakademin, The Bridge and Packbridge to raise awareness and potentially new ideas and solutions related to food waste reduction, such as sensors, packaging materials and waste tech.
At this event we are connecting all our networks, know-how as well as expertise for cross fertilization between industries to look into this issue for a deeper understanding of our joint potential to find new ways to collaborate.
